We decided to choose this topic because we thought it would be interesting to see if the persons' personality has significance on what genres of music they listen to. We also thought it would be interesting to determine if the type of music a person listened to had an impact on the way they drive.
Hypothesis:The mood that a person is in will effect the type of music that they listen to at that specific time, not necessarily their personality.
In order to prove/disprove our hypothesis, we will need to construct surveys and personality tests.
facts and background knowledge :
1. Whether it’s a movie or a song, your choice will always be based on what best resonates with your current feelings. You prefer to listen to that type of music because it matches your inner feelings .
2. Rockers, or people who listen to rock, are usually doing so because rock exactly matches what happens inside of them. There is some kind of anger that they want to express, there is some kind of energy that they want to get out or there is something that's bothering them ,and they want to take charge over. Rockers are also rebellious.
3. Listening to techno is always an indication of having a good mood.
4. People who listen to romantic songs are either in love or either thinking about love, if someone is focusing on building his career and is having some troubles with it, you will hardly find him listening to romantic songs, simply because, it does not reflect his inner emotions and that’s why it does not resonate with him.
5. (personality and music) The music you listen too depends on your mood but your long term preference of special categories of music can say a lot about your personality. A recent research divided music preferences into four big categories then related some personality traits to these four groups, below is the list of the categories along with their associated personality traits.
